Rude Democracy: Author Lecture & Luncheon

Civil political discourse: Oxymoronic idea? Out-dated and lost notion? Or, maybe, the future of political debate? Join the Ridgefield League of Women Voters at their upcoming Author Luncheon as they welcome Susan Herbst, UCONN President and author the book, Rude Democracy: Civility and Incivility in American Politics.


The League has long championed and led the way on informed political discussion and issue-based research in an effort to educate a voters in a non-partisan way. Ms. Herbst’s book focuses in on recent tones and attitudes on the political stage and offers a plan to elevate the discourse both among candidates and with citizens as well.


The Author Luncheon takes place on Friday, January 11, 2013 from Noon-2:00pm at Sarah’s Wine Bar in Ridgefield. The cost of the luncheon is $32 and reservations are required as space is limited as League members from Ridgefield, Redding, New Canaan, Westport and Wilton will be invited to attend as well as the public.
