The Soccer Club of Ridgefield (SCOR) is inviting all of its members and supporters to attend its first annual cocktail fundraiser, Have a Ball!, which will be held on Friday, November 16th, at the Ridgefield Community Center from 7 to 11 p.m.

"SCOR depends on dozens of volunteers to run its programs. This is really the only opportunity we’ll have to meet in significant numbers to celebrate our successes, thank some of our key contributors and, we hope, inspire more parents to take an active role in the club,” said John Healy, VP of Development for SCOR.

In addition to dinner, cocktails, and a DJ, the gala will offer a silent auction raffles and door prizes throughout the evening.

SCOR is one of the largest soccer clubs in Fairfield County, offering a wide range of soccer programs for Ridgefield children of all ages and abilities. The Club provides both competitive and non-competitive soccer leagues for children ages Pre-K through High School. More than 1,600 boys and girls participate in 19 Travel teams, one Premier team, and more than 100 recreational teams in the fall session alone. In addition, SCOR’s Holland League enables Ridgefield children with developmental disabilities to get out on the field and play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.

Tickets to the Have a Ball! are $75 a person, and can be bought online at www.SCOR.org.

No money for the classrooms? A shame. Ridgefield's BOE just donated $25,000 of taxpayer money toRead More yet another artificial turf field. Gee, that works out to about $480 per classroom - exactly what the teachers have to spend out of their pockets on YOUR kids. Lesson: Money for sports? Yes. Money for the classroom. No.
