A Taste of Ridgefield 2014: 15th Annual Food Festival Gears up for Gourmet Fun

For the 15th year, the Ridgefield

Rotary is cooking up A Taste of

Ridgefield
, the town’s premier food and wine event that benefits dozens of

local organizations.  The legendary affair,
sponsored by Fairfield County Bank, VS Shows and Benziger Family Winery, will
return to the Ridgefield Community Center on Sunday, January 26, 2014.  Two
serving sessions will be offered: from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, and 4:00 – 6:00
pm.

A Taste of Ridgefield attracts hundreds
of food lovers from the town and beyond to showcase the area's best restaurants and caterers for a day of fun and fare. More than 35 of Ridgefield’s most coveted and tastiest eateries and
establishments have signed on to participate in this year’s festival.   Guests will enjoy an extensive selection of
culinary creations, engaging chef demos, specialty food and beverages, and
entertainment from RMAC musicians.

“This year’s event will be even bigger and tastier than
ever before,” said Barbara McMahon, Rotary board member and Taste co-chair.   “We’re kicking it up a notch, so to speak,
and will be featuring the new restaurants in town, as well as special menus and
wine tastings.”

There will be plenty of palate-pleasing to go around,
whether festival-goers are hungry for classic recipes from Southwest Café, Cellar
Door and Dimitri’s Diner, or dessert samplings from Deborah Anne’s, The Cake
Box, Tusk & Cup and Carvel. In addition to the variety of foods offered at
this year’s event, attendees can also enjoy signature beer and wine tastes from
109 Cheese & Wine, Cellar XV, Ridgefield Liquors, Liberta’s Spirits and The

Little Pub.

New features will highlight the event this year,
including entertainment by local RMAC musicians Georgie Brennan, In June, Apollo’s Legacy and Mrs. Gordon.  Meredith
Mulhearn of Cucumber & Chamomile, who has been consulting with local
eateries, will be available on site for nutritional counseling and
suggestions.  Gift bags including coupons

to local establishments will also be distributed to all attendees.

As always, proceeds from A Taste of Ridgefield will be donated
back to the community in the form of grants and scholarships.  Every year, the Ridgefield Rotary generously
donates thousands of dollars to various local organizations and students
through several programs and initiatives.

“What can be better than spending a
delicious day filled with food, friends, and family while supporting your
community in so many ways?” asked McMahon.
Ticket prices are $40 in advance, $45 at the door; children ages 8-12, $20.  Tickets can be purchased on the Ridgefield Rotary website

or from any Ridgefield Rotary Club member, and are also available at Squash’s,
Dimitri’s Diner, Cellar XV, Bistro 7, Deborah Anne’s, and the Women’s Center.
