Scotland School Field Torn Up by Vandals

The Soccer Club of Ridgefield's practice area needs to be moved to another field.

 

At some point between late this past Saturday night or early Sunday morning, someone drove on the field, tearing through the turf and leaving about a hundred feet of roughly two-inches-deep tire tracks. The defacement has rendered the field unusable for upcoming soccer practice.

 “The incident remains under investigation,” said Captain Tom Comstock of the . “I know Parks and Rec. is trying to get the fields back in condition.”

With soccer season approaching, the Soccer Club of Ridgefield (SCOR) currently needs to move its travel practice to Diniz field. However, its impending September tournament schedule won’t be affected.

“We were fortunate. We didn’t need to leverage Scotland for the tournaments this year,” said SCOR Tournament Director Mark Vanni.

Was the incident captured on video. I hope so. There should be no place on school property that is not under video survellance 24/7
