Looking for a place to swim? Look no further.

With the little taste of summer we had last week, you may have been longing for a place to cool off.  Here are some of the many places in-town where you can go for a dip.

With separate lanes for lap swim, a large recreational swim section, a water slide, buckets that dump water on those brave enough to venture underneath, and a zero-entry section for the littlest swimmers, the Recreation Center pool has something for everyone.  As an added bonus: it is covered, so you can swim whatever the weather – and no SPF necessary when the sun is scorching hot!  Annual family membership is $250, and lap add-on is $230 per person.  For more information, click here.

Barlow Mountain Pool – 115 Barlow Mountain Rd., (203) 431-2755

Also run by the Ridgefield Parks and Recreation department, this pool is open to the public when the Recreation Center pool is closed for repairs.  Generally, though, it is reserved for lessons and swim team use.

Martin Park Beach – Great Pond Rd., (203) 431-2755

Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Martin Park is a wonderful place for families during the summer.  The sand is perfect for building sand castles, and the playground provides additional entertainment when the kids need a break from the water.  There is a covered pavilion, which provides a shady spot to grab a bite, the restrooms are clean, and there is even a hose at the entrance so you can wash the sand off your feet before getting back into the car.  A seasonal family membership is $160 for residents, $240 for non-residents.  Daily passes are also available for $15 per resident, $20 per non-resident.  Senior residents are admitted free-of-charge.  For more information, click here.

– 41 Governor St., (203) 438-8821

The pool at the Boys & Girls Club is open to both members and non-members; join for one month, or for the entire summer.  There is even an option to purchase a membership from July 15th to August 15th, to cover the hottest month of the season!  Family rates: members $300 per month, or $750 for the summer; non-members $350 per month, or $850 for the summer.  For more information, click here

2) PRIVATE CLUBS; MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

– 748 Danbury Rd., (203) 431-1466
