All In a Weekend: Tai Chi, Therapy Dogs and More

Read to Therapy Dogs

Why Go: The will be joining the Wilton Library to help kids build confidence when it comes to reading. ROAR will be bringing therapy dogs to act as an audience for young readers. Children will have the chance to learn how to be comfortable around animals while learning how to read out loud.

When/Where:  Saturday, August 27 at the Wilton Library Association from 11am-12pm.

Why Go: Kenny Wayne Shepard is well experienced in the art of playing the guitar. At a young age, he had the privilege of working with blues artists who helped him reach his accomplishments in the music world. Wayne’s first album was released when he was still in high school when most kids his age were thinking about their next sports game or who they were going to take to prom.

When/Where: Saturday, August 27 starting at 8pm at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

Pricing: Orchestra/Mezz. Tickets: $60. Balcony tickets: $55.

Join the Scrabble Club

Why Go: Play with words and challenge your opponent with your dictionary smarts and your love of language.

When/Where: Sunday, August 28 at the Easton Public Library from 6-9:30pm in the community room.

Pricing: Free.

Concert on the Green

Why Go: Bone dry, a band said to have an acoustic rock and electric vibe, will be performing on the Redding Green for the last Concert of the summer. Bring the kids out for a night of music, dancing and picnicking. September is coming up soon and the cool weather is around the corner. Take advantage of the last summer weekend before school starts up.

When/Where: Sunday, August 28 at 6pm on the Redding Green.

Pricing: Free.

Introduction to Tai Chi

Why Go: Kathy Brenner will be guiding students through the art of Tai Chi. Brenner has experienced and studied Tai Chi since the early 90’s and will modify the practice for beginners. Bring a friend and some comfortable clothing for a chance to stretch, sweat and savor your Saturday afternoon.

When/Where: Saturday, August 27 at the from 1-2:30pm.

Pricing: Free. Registration is required.
