Ridgefield Mom Needs Your Vote in Wal-Mart’s Get on the Shelf Contest

Ridgefield mompreneur and inventor Allison Brush-Stern needs the community’s help to get the collapsible beach pails she designed into Wal-Mart stores. The innovative product, which is already available in local stores, has made it into the Audition Round of Wal-Mart's Get on the Shelf Contest during which the public shows support by voting for the products they like best.

“Voting ends September 2nd, so time is really of the essence and we need everyone’s support to make this happen,” says Allison. The public may vote once per day. For more information and to vote for Collapse-a-Pail, please click here: http://bit.ly/CollapseaPail.

Last year the New Canaan Patch saw a video about Allison and her product. She was then invited to compete in an inventors contest on the Anderson Cooper show in New York City and won for best invention and innovation, for which she was awarded with a $10,000 check by AJ Khubani, CEO and founder of Telebrands, also known as the "As Seen On TV infomercial guru,” to develop Collapse-A-Pail.

The working mom of three has since redesigned the pails and expanded the line in fun bright colors, which are available at the Toy Chest and Bissell’s Pharmacy in Ridgefield as well as select stores across the east coast and online at www.collapse-a-pail.com, where she tells the story of how she was inspired by her mother and a family vacation to create her product.

She is also planning to exhibit in the launch area at the International Toy Fair in NYC and possibly the Surf Expo in Orlando, Fla. A percentage of the proceeds go to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital which holds a special place in her heart.
