Ridgefield Unemployment Inches Up to 5.8 Percent
There are 695 unemployed people in town, according to state figures. The town's unemployment rate is well below the state average.
Ridgefield’s October unemployment rate rose from 5.7 percent in September to 5.8 percent in October, according to the state Department of Labor. The number of unemployed people is down from summer highs of 6.4 percent.
The statewide unemployment rate also rose a tenth of a percentage point in October up to 9 percent.
