Ridgefield Bicycle Company Celebrating New Location

The Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to come check out the shop's new digs on Danbury Road.

The Chamber of Commerce will be breaking out a pair of oversized scissors to celebrate the new location of Ridgefield Bicycle Company with a ribbon-cutting ceremony tomorrow, Feb. 13.

The event, from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., will take place at Ridgefield Bicycle's new location at 88 Danbury Road.

In a message posted on its website, the Chamber writes, "Join Sean & Jacqui Dowd, friends and fellow Chamber of Commerce members as we officially welcome Ridgefield Bicycle Company and Sport Club to their new location!"

Ridgefield Bicycle was formerly located at 22 Catoonah St.

The new location facilitates a “much more appropriate and functional space,"  co-owner Jacqueline Dowd told Patch in September of 2012. “Our service department will have room to breathe and we won’t have to scramble every time it rains,” she said.

Dowd, who owns the Ridgefield Bicycle Company with her husband Sean, said they had been thinking about moving to a larger location not long after they acquired the business in 2011.

Along with its products and services, the business is well known for its leadership in the Ridgefield Bicycle Sport Club, which held its 2013 kick-off meeting at the Playhouse last month.
