Readers' Choice: Ridgefield Dance Studios

Do you love me, now that I can dance?

A graceful dance can be romantic. It can be intense. It can be art… or it can be awkward. So before you embarrass yourself on the dance floor, we’re asking where in Ridgefield you learn to cut a rug?

With five dance studios in town, there are plenty of great places to feel the rhythm and hone your skills, but which is your favorite?

To support your favorite dance studio, rate and comment on your favorite studio in our Directory (just click on the link below) which is weighted as strongly with the poll results and counts for more because you can also post a review. For more on how we choose the weekly winner, check out the Official Readers’ Choice Rules (attached as PDF).

If you’re a studio owner — or owner of any business in town — be sure to , which will help you reach local customers and sharpen your online image.

So here’s our list of Ridgefield Dance Studios; be sure to let us know if there are any we missed:

The poll is open until 9 a.m. Friday and we’ll be naming this week’s winner at noon.

FYI Joy of Movement is not a dance studio. It is a retail store selling dance shoes and apparel.

You need to fact check your story. Ridgefield is not Brookfield. Pilates. Barre does not teach dance, move 2 Wellness is listed twice... Joy of Movement is a retail store...

Also, the dance studio that holds their classes in the Ridgefield Recreation Center is the MacDonald-Pin Dancers. I suggest a serious fact check on this article as well.

Ridgefield Conservatory is the best, most professionally run studio we've ever dealt with. They have the most qualified and most talented teachers in Ridgefield.

We are fans of the Conservatory. My daughter's interest in dancing and her appreciation of the art form have grown and her technique has greatly improved since she started classes at RCD.

The Ridgefield School of Dance is phenomenal! People should realize that you don't need to be on Main Street to be considered the best. This place is a gem and offered a unique, rigorous, structure in a supportive atmosphere. Not pretentious, just professional.

Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance made our daughter´s dreams come true! The teachers are professionally and pedagogically competent. The spring concert was a wonderful experience for dancers and audience.

RSPA is the most amazing place to dance. The comradery between the students is beautiful to see. They are all friends who love to dance. RSPA is so diverse and my child takes all kinds of classes, from modern to hiphop, lyrical and jazz. RSPA is the most well round place to dance
Laurita DeSiena May 22, 2012 at 03:23 PM
RSPA is the most well rounded studio in the Ridgefield area. The array of dance disciplines with options for voice and acting has furthered my children's interests in the arts. The RSPA faculty is not only the highest quality but the warmest and most compassionate!

I took dance at RSPA when I was younger and it was the only dance classes I looked forward to attending. I tried other dance studios but they weren't nearly as good or involved with the students. The teachers are so vibrant and full of life and really make you enjoy what your learning. RSPA rules!

RSPA is such a great environment for children. They are professional and understanding. My child knows that she is not going to be a ballerina. RSPA is about the art of dance and making the child the best they can be. We had such a great experience at RSPA and love everyone there.

go RSPA! Most friendly teachers, most welcoming place, and I met the best friends I've ever had!

I took classes at the Ridgefield School of Dance for 10 years and grew tremendously as a dancer. I had teachers that still care for me and made some of the best friends that I have ever had. I know that I will always be greeted with open arms whenever I return to Ridgefield on college breaks. I loved my experience at RSD, but I wish there was less of an atmosphere of competition among the dance schools in Ridgefield. Where someone decides to take classes is a personal choice and everyone fits in and feels the most comfortable in different atmospheres. I do not believe one school should be crowned "victor" of the town; each has their own strengths and characteristics that work well for individual dancers.

Ridgefield Studio of Performing Arts is amazing. Their teachers are extremely smart, patient, and loving! RSPA is filled with friendly people, non-competitive classes , and teachers that are extremely knowledgable. They not only instruct at RSPA but share their love and knowledge of the Arts to help our children pursue their dreams in dance or just have a great time!

The RSPA spring performances are fantastic. They are so professionally done and are quite the production. The dances are beautifully choreographed. The show isn't too long, its the perfect length. I love watching the show every year. It is something my family and I look forward to.

Great post, Callie and very true! My daughter goes to one of these dance schools and even though we prefer that one, it fits best for us. I am sure each school has great classes and teachers, no matter where they are located in Ridgefield. What is important is whether the dancer is comfortable there and enjoying learning!

Thank you everyone for voting and posting. As the director of the Ridgefield Studio of Performing Arts (RSPA), I would like to take a moment to applaud all the Ridgefield dance schools for their great programs. I have lived in Ridgefield all my life and have had the opportunity to dance with each school or work with different directors on multiple community programs. I believe that each local dance program has their strength and that shows in the longevity that each school has been in business and is presented through the beautiful comments posted during this last week. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach and give back my love for the performing arts. I know that my faculty feels the same way. This is a beautiful community and I am proud of how much our community supports the arts! Jessica Mancini, Director/Owner- The Ridgefield Studio of Performing Arts (RSPA)
