Is It Too Early to Search for Summer Child Care?

It's never too early to start looking for summer child care.  Planning well in advance will eliminate the stress and scramble once school lets out.

Do I have a babysitter I can count on all summer?  Can we afford to send our children to camp? If my children are ill, will I still need to pay day care fees?

According to care.com summer child care can cost up to $7,000 per child.  A family with three children could spend close to $21,000 for the summer.  Hosting an au pair for an entire year costs about $17,000. And the cost remains the same regardless of the size of each family.  Au pairs may provide up to ten hours of child care per day and up to forty five hours per week. The child care can be scheduled to suit your family's schedule.

Au pairs offer a cultural exchange like no other.  Your children can reap the benefits of hearing and speaking a foreign language from a native speaker.  A sampling of countries includes: China, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Croatia, Spain, Italy, France, Iceland, New Zealand, Thailand, Sweden, Norway, Peru, Argentina, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Netherlands and Germany.

As live-in companions, au pairs get to know your family and think of them as their own, and in turn, offer the stability and peace of mind that comes from leaving your children with a trusted care giver.
