Doll Collectors: This Sale is For You

These dolls were collected with care and now, the collector is seeking new homes for them. She is hosting a doll sale this Friday in Ridgefield.

Effanbee, Horsman, Kestner, Knickerbocker, Mattel, Schoenhut and Vogue. Those are just some of the types of dolls for sale from Catherine Baker's collection.

The dolls range from the 1860s to the 1960s. The search for each doll gave great pleasure to Baker and she learned new things each time she purchased a new doll.

In the doll sale announcement on Ridgefield Patch, she is quoted as saying: "If I liked the doll and thought it would add historical charm to the collection as a whole, then I evaluated the quality, condition and cost. Usually I looked for a specific type. I would know the span of years that needed filling."
