Urban Archeologist: Video Dig Report 3

See the view a true early bird would see.

If there is one piece of advice I can give to anyone interested in Urban Archeology it would be to carry a camera wherever you dig. Although bulky, my camera is always by my side just in case I see something I want but won’t buy. Now that I am documenting some of my digs with motion and sound I need to be able to set up and go in a moment’s notice.

This week, I take a look inside the preparations in progress by a local estate sale service as they ready a lifetime of collecting into a two-day sale. It is a lot of work and although I didn’t capture their personal struggles with a packed house on a humid and rainy day, I did capture many of the items that I am sure sold quickly.

If you are like me and you can’t resist picking things up that seem out of place, then you’ll appreciate this story of a simple fork that traveled a long way to reach me.

Greg Van Antwerp is a Brookfield resident and blogger, who can be found on the weekends in search of a good “dig” or a good story.  You can read more about his adventures by visiting his blog.
