Ridgefield Road Work, Paving Plan Through August

Crews will be ripping up road and laying down fresh asphalt across town next month.

Ridgefield Highway Department crews began prep work last week for the second phase of this year’s road work season, which includes paving and drainage improvements on six roads.

Beginning in August, crews will begin reclaiming and repaving Short Lane and Bennetts Farm Road, from Old Stagecoach Road to Douglas Lane.

Road crews will also be milling (removing the top surface of asphalt) and paving all of Ledges Road and Grove Street, from Old Quarry Road to Route 35.

Caudatowa Drive and Rock Road will be overlayed with new asphalt.

Residents will be able to access their driveways throughout construction, however there might be brief traffic delays.
