Lily Faillaci, 11, gathered her friends to do a fundraiser to help people, and they settled on Ann's Place and a backyard carnival. Lily and 14 friends held games, including ring toss, balloon darts, can knockdown and others.
Competitors paid 25 cents for a ticket and everybody won a prize. The team offered standard carnival concessions, including cotton candy, popcorn and baked goods. They attracted nearly 40 neighborhood kids to the event.
"Who should I donate to," Lily Faillaci asked herself, and she decided she wanted to help people with cancer.
She learned about Ann's Place and she and Sydney Roth visited Ann’s Place on Oct. 25 to hand over the $300 plus dollars they raised. She gave the money to clinical director and clinical social worker, Su Murdock and Kevin Berrill.
Ann’s Place is located at 80 Saw Mill Road, Danbury, CT 06810. For more information, visit www.annsplace.org or call 203-790-6568.
