One Book Sale Done, Another on Horizon

The Friends of the Ridgefield Library concluded a 40,000 book sale Monday by collecting $5 from people who bought a bag of books.

"The people of Ridgefield are very generous," said Cris Nichols, book coordinator with the Friends, which sponsors a spring and fall book sale. As this book sale ends, volunteers are starting to sort books for the spring book sale. "The volunteers are retired people who just love to get their hands on books."

Nichols said she is looking for more volunteers. Books are dropped off at the library constantly, and that is where the volunteers sort the books and prepare them for sale.
