This story was written by Aaron Boyd.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Ridgefield and most of Southern Connecticut due to the periodic thunderstorms crossing the region.

The flash flood warning expires at 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting 1 to 3 inches of rain to fall across Northern Fairfield County, with heavier showers possible that could bring 1 to 2 inches per hour this evening.

Due to recent rainfall in the area, flash flooding could produce dangerous situations.
