Ridgefield High School Students Compete in Sikorsky STEM Challenge

Ridgefield High School has entered a team in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Challenge, sponsored by Sikorsky Aircraft.  The team will compete against nine other regional high school teams, and they will complete four preliminary contests, then one main challenge.  The team attended a kickoff ceremony at Chester Airport on September 27th, and are pictured here in front of a F4U Corsair engine.  The Corsair is a World War II aircraft built by Sikorsky subsidiary, Vought Aircraft, and is the focus of the STEM Challenge. Pictured here are (front row, left to right) Monika Wiktorzak, Ciara Carruthers, Hannah Kim, Isabella Spanos, Jordan Voves, DJ Jancin, and (back row, left to right) Noelle Farmer, Nick Carey, Gurumeher Sawhney, Adam Rayfield, Kent Rapp, and Daniel Stucki. Not pictured are team members Maggie McSpedon, Colleen Gruendel and Kendall Phillips, plus Ridgefield High School physics teachers Bryan Holmes and David Waltimyer who oversee the team.
