Cake Decorators to Convene at Camp Cake Box

Campers to receive hands-on cake decorating training Ridgefield, CT – Summer camps have long been a way for kids to explore and develop unique interests. This summer, budding bakers can don aprons and roll up their sleeves at The Cake Box, Ridgefield’s own cake and cupcake bakery, in order to learn the art of cake decoration. With instruction and guidance from the Cake Box’s bakery manager, Anna Burns, Camp Cake Box campers will create their very own two-tiered cake, which they will take home at the end of the camp. Jordan Gregory, co-owner of The Cake Box and executive pastry chef, will also spend time with the campers, sharing her knowledge and expertise. Specific learning modules will include making buttercream, working with fondant, applying frosting, making decorations by hand, and putting it all together into a delicious masterpiece. The Cake Box will supply all materials and tools needed. In addition, campers will receive a free Camp Cake Box t-shirt and free beverages. Camp Cake Box will have two sessions, each Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 – 11:30 am. The first session will take place July 16-19. The second session will take place July 23-26. Registration is in person at The Cake Box or by phone at 203-403-2558. The camp will be limited to 12 campers. Campers must be eight years of age or older. The fee is $250 per camper per session. There is a 10% discount for enrolling multiple siblings. The Cake Box is a gourmet bakery located at 1 Big Shop Lane in Ridgefield. It is owned and operated by two Ridgefield residents, Jordan Gregory and Robert Byrnes. All cupcakes, cakes, cookies, brownies and other items are made on the premises daily using fresh and natural ingredients. More information about The Cake Box may be found at www.thecakeboxofct.com.
