Watershed Gallery will host a children’s art exhibition and silent auction to benefit the Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation on Friday, January 11th, from 6-8pm. The Young at Art Exhibition will feature work from students in grades K-12, which will be auctioned to raise funds for children with special needs. Student artists interested in participating should register by Sunday, December 30th.
“This is an opportunity to showcase talented young artists, and for those artists to help other children,” says Jennifer Mathy of Watershed Gallery. “The Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation has done tremendous work in and around this area – providing vital medical equipment, funding playgrounds, and supporting families with special needs children. We wanted to do our part to aide their efforts.”
Interested student artists may submit one work of art, be it a photo, painting, drawing, print, or sculpture. Submission guidelines and registration forms may be obtained by emailing info@watershedgallery.com or by dropping in at the gallery, located at 23 Governor Street in Ridgefield. Registration fees are $15 per artist, with all proceeds going to the Foundation.
“Support from businesses like Watershed Gallery allow us to continue the important work of providing guidance and support for the many families with children with special needs in and around Ridgefield,” notes Suzanne McCormick, Board Member at the Foundation. “Our mission is to help kids be kids.”
The Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation is a Ridgefield-based non-profit organization, founded in 2004. The Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of children with special needs and their families. The Foundation helps finance the purchase of much-needed medical equipment and services when insurance is exhausted and other social programs are not available. In addition to financial support, the Foundation helps families navigate the medical and social communities to find the products and services that will specifically meet their needs.
