WestConn Students Team Up With RVNA

The Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the students at Western Connecticut State University.

At the beginning of the Spring semester, WestConn students Delicia MacPherson, Kelly McLaughlin, Nicole Root & Conor Bierfeldt teamed up with RVNA’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Katy Johannssen, on a Social Media Launch Project for their Marketing class taught by Professor Dr. John Cronin.

On a regular basis, the team met with Katy and discussed the social media goals that were needed to give RVNA a stronger online presence by using social networking sites. The WestConn students immediately put their strategy in place and created a Twitter and LinkedIn page for RVNA. On Facebook, they assessed the activity and began to post more frequently about health topics to increase the interest and interaction with the followers.

The team also established an account on Hootsuite.com, a website that provides a simple way to send out one message to the three major social media sites. This web tool saves time and helps RVNA keep track of how well the posts were received and shared. Delicia, Kelly, Nicole, and Conor also created a professional video of RVNA’s Annual Health Fair which created a presence on YouTube.com as well.

Due to these students hard work, RVNA’s “likes” have significantly increased on Facebook, as well as followers on Twitter and LinkedIn. RVNA’s Katy Johannssen commented "the world of social media is constantly evolving so it was our pleasure to work with our team of students who understood our marketing goals and implemented straight forward and simple to use applications that RVNA continues to use on a regular basis."

Thank you again to Delicia, Kelly, Nicole, and Conor who earned an “A” for all of their hard work and dedication to this project, RVNA wishes them all the best in success for the future.

I disagree. I think Obama does a pretty good job. For one thing, he's brought dignity back to theRead More Whitehouse. Would you really be pleased if your children grew up to be like George Bush? I mean look at the man. Ten years before he was President he was sitting on a bar stool doing nothing with his life. Now after his Presidency, he's an artist painting pictures of himself in the shower. Gimme a break. Through some fluke of nature, somewhere in between there he became President of the United States. You couldn't make this stuff up, but that doesn't make it any less embarrassing. Thank goodness Obama came along and gave America some dignity.

People, stop spraying your lawns with chemicals! Cancer rates in CT are higher than other states.Read More That's because we have the money to spray our lawns and turn them into green perfection. But it can kill you and your kids. Just stop it already. Is your grass more important than the health of your family?

Lisa, with the new Patch format, maybe you should think about setting a minimum age requirement.

No money for the classrooms? A shame. Ridgefield's BOE just donated $25,000 of taxpayer money toRead More yet another artificial turf field. Gee, that works out to about $480 per classroom - exactly what the teachers have to spend out of their pockets on YOUR kids. Lesson: Money for sports? Yes. Money for the classroom. No.
