The 106th St. Stephen’s Nutmeg Festival is featuring a Cake Baking Contest, which is open to bakers of all ages and from the entire community. The festival takes place on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the St. Stephen’s campus at 351 Main St.
Judging will be by the owners of The Cake Box, Jordan Gregory and Robert Byrnes. There is no entry fee. Winners will be declared in two groups of contestants - children (under age 16) and age 16 and above – and for two categories – looks and taste.
Contestants are asked to bring their cakes to the church’s North Hall the morning of the festival. Judging will be at 1 p.m. Slices of the cakes will be sold after the judging.
