Ridgefield High Schoolers Earn CIAC Student Athlete Award

The  Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) Scholar-Athlete Program annually recognizes two high school seniors - one boy and one girl - from each member high school whose academic and athletic careers have been exemplary, whose personal standards and achievements are a model to others, and who possess high levels of integrity, self-discipline and courage. This year Melissa Hutchings and Brendan Bossidy were selected from to receive this award.

Melissa Hutchings is Secretary of her Class, played 2 years of soccer, 4 years of both Lacrosse and Hockey and was Captain of the hockey team in her senior year.  She is  a member of Saferides and Asst. leader of the Childrens Choir.  She has been on the High Honor Role at RHS for 4 years.

Brendan Bossidy has played 4 years of lacrosse and hockey at RHS and Captained both teams in his senior year. He is a Safe-rides Co-Leader, volunteers at St. Mary's Church and has maintained honor role status at RHS throughout his high school career.

Both student athletes were inducted into the National Honor Society in their junior year and have received numerous academic and athletic awards throughout their High School years.  Melissa will be attending Boston College and Brendan will be attending Williams College in the fall.
