Auditions for the upcoming after-school acting class with Beau Gravitte at will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 18 and 25, at the playhouse. Class size is strictly limited so auditions are mandatory.
Local actors of all ages are encouraged to audition for the Master Acting Class with Beau Gravitte. The classes will be constructed around the students who apply and are accepted.
Gravitte has appreared in numerous television shows (The Good Wife, Gossip Girl, Law & Order SVU) as well as on Broadway (The Light in the Piazza). He is also on the board of directors at the Actors Studio in New York City.
The class will begin with the basics - exercises in relaxation and improvisation, as well as character development in scene work.
There will be eight, one and a half hour classes. The final class will be an open rehearsal for invited guests.
Students are asked to prepare a short monologue and to be ready to work briefy with Gravitte at the audition.
Classes will be held 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Feb. 1 through March 29 on the Ridgefield Playhouse stage.
Tuition is $360.
