'Why Don't You Give Harpo and Zeppo Marx's Birthdays Off as Well?'

The day's most interesting comments from Patch users in your town and neighboring communities.

FAIRFIELD: "I'm done with the Flatto-ists in town. I will vote for Belitto just to get something different. I have no delusions that he is going to be remarkably better, but I think the overall change in the junta will benefit everyone. Before you flame me for this attitude, step back and realize that this is how most people vote." This was one Fairfield Patch reader's response to a Letter to the Editor in support of Rob Bellitto, Republican candidate for First Selectman.

RIDGEFIELD: "I will be deducting the days without power from all my bills this time. Didn't do it with Irene, but I am sick of paying high prices for poor services." A fan of Ridgefield Patch's Facebook page left this comment in response to CL&P's progress in restoring power after October's snowstorm.

WILTON: "Sure, Dr. Richards....let's raise taxes next year so you can add another day to the calendar that cost the taxpayer money. Why don't you give Harpo and Zeppo Marx's birthdays off as well? ;-)" This was one Wilton Patch reader's response to news that a request by some Wilton parents to make Election Day a regular school day has been denied.

WILTON: "I don't want my leader clearing the roads, I want him/her directing a full staff of town employees to clear the roads, help the elderly, ride CL&P like a cheap pony, coordinate OEM, inform the public, get the police and fireman off their asses and show some [good] leadership for a change." This was one Wilton Patch reader's response to news that some residents are disappointed with First Selectman Bill Brennan's perceived lack of communication during last week's power outages.
