Tigers Triumph Over Norwalk, 42-6

Ridgefield football team wins its Homecoming Game

In their first victory over the Norwalk Bears in almost five years, the Ridgefield Tigers crushed Norwalk 42-6 under rainy skies on Oct. 23. It was a running game, with Drew Arcoleo making 20 carries for a total of 190 yards, leading the Tigers to three out of their four touchdowns.

As a team, the Tigers covered 386 yards, with the first touchdown a result of DeVaghn Millington's 50-yard carry on the first play of the game, followed by Charlie Gravitte's scramble in the end zone. The majority of the Tigers' yards were gained in the first half with 232 yards on just 21 plays, averaging more than five yards on nearly every down.

Defensively, the Tigers kept the Bears at bay, only allowing 48 yards in 23 posessions in the first half. The Bears' only touchdown came from a kickoff return by Delshawn Wilson, who ran 89 yards and was halted at the 3-yard line.

The second half dazzled the packed crowd amidst chants, endless cheers, and nonstop rain with back-to-back touchdowns and no passes. It was a game that gave the Tigers a 5-1 record and a much-wanted victory over the Bears.
