The boys hockey team snapped a tie after the second period with three goals in the third period Wednesday to defeat New Canaan 5-3 at the Winter Garden Arena.
It was the 12th straight win for the second-ranked Tigers, who improved 12-1.

Ridgefield got goals from five different players as Tim Kelly, Cam McGuire, Sean Wilkinson, Jack Christensen and Johnny Richards all scored.
Nate Gliedman made 20 saves for Ridgefield the contest was tied 2-2 after 30 minutes.

New Canaan lost for just the second time in its last nine games and dropped to 8-4-1.

The New Canaan girls hockey team improved to 15-0 Wednesday with a 4-2 victory over Ridgefield at the Winter Garden Arena.
Olivia Hompe scored for 47th and 48th goals of the season for the Rams, who posted their second of the season over Ridgefield, also defeating the Tigers 3-1 on Dec. 19. Ridgefield dropped to 10-5 with its second straight defeat.
Ridgefield's Katie Curnan scored five minutes into the game to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead after the first period, but New Canaan tied in the second on a goal by Corbett Ripley, then scored three times in the final period.
Madzie Carroll snapped the tie just under five minutes into the period before Hompe scored her two goals to make it 4-2. Meghan Galloway tallied Ridgefield's second goal with under two minutes left.
Britt Gardella made 17 saves for New Canaan (10-0 FCIAC) and Heather Ogden stopped 27 shots for Ridgefield (4-3 FCIAC).
