"Leaves and Wind: Nature's Greatest Love Story"
By Pia Rebello Britto, Ridgefield Resident
Still leaf
Limp at bough
Pensive immobility
Seeking love
Surreptitiously concealed wind
Unsuspecting gentle waft
Leaves quiver thrill to the touch
Courtship in the air
Gusty wind
Branches sway
Leaves dance with abandon
Romance in the air
Howling wind
Wiping through denuded branches
Desperately searching
Adored mislaid leaves
Leaves-in-pain fallen by the wayside
Heave with longing
Attempts at resuscitation in vain
Alas, never to feel beloved wind again
