President Obama Signs Disaster Declaration for Connecticut
The declaration will provide local and state governments with additional federal aid, according to the Connecticut Post.
The White House announced on Thursday that President Barack Obama has declared seven of the state's eight counties, including Fairfield County, as disaster areas following last month's Nor'easter, according to the Connecticut Post.
Gov. Dannel Malloy requested a major disaster declaration last Friday, which would provide additional federal funds for emergency work, debris removal and damage restoration. Obama declared a disaster in Connecticut earlier this year when Tropical Storm Irene hit the area in August.
According to the Post, Moody's Investors Service said that last month's storm will cost the state $3 billion.
