McMahon Targets Female Voters in Senate Bid
The Republican candidate told The Associated Press that she is hoping to have more one-on-one discussions with women during her campaign.
U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon would like to meet with more voters on a one-on-one basis, especially women, a demographic that strongly supported Richard Blumenthal last year, according to The Associated Press.
On the former WWE CEO's first stop on a tour of women-owned businesses, McMahon said through these more intimate discussions, she hopes to express to women that she has endured the same issues as they have, both as a stay-at-home mother and as a working mother.
McMahon's first stop was All-State Utility Supply Co. in Southington, which sells and rents construction safety equipment. It is owned and operated by Monica Cusano.

While this woman was CEO of the WWE over 40 young wrestlers have died of drug related deaths. Her greatest champion Hulk Hogan is an admitted steroid abuser and many other wrestlers have abused steroids under her reign. Wrestlers are called independent contractors so they don't have to be provided health insurance. Women are treated like sex objects in the WWE to provide titilation to the young boys watching the programs live and on TV. If Ms. Mcmahon didn't havwe $50MM of her own money to attempt to buy a Senate seat, she wouldn't even be a though tin anyone's mind.
Republicans you can do better. Chris Shays was an admirable congressman for 24 years, he deserves your support.

afreedman, once again, showing a commendable non-partisan attack.
First, your fact about drug related deaths, is just beyond a lie. Why do you need to lie?
Oh wait, your buddy, DICK blumenthal , upon his dangerous return from vietnam---- oh wait--he didnt go. I take it liars are part of your culture?
If you have a problem with treatment of women, Im sure you have a problem with bill clinton, and anthony weiner, and about 3000 other democrats who routinely have used their office or the white house as a brothel.
McMahon does the right thing time and time again. You should actually spend some time to find out what she has accomplished and what she stands for, before simply screaming your lies and mistruths.
The problem with a guy like you, is that your lies are so easily unearthed. I take it you dont care that you have no credibility?
Also--old freed man--which sport football? baseball? boxing? hockey? soccer? olympics? colleges-- which one buddy has had athletes who use steroids? Any of them? guys like you are a dime a dozen. 8cents is what your opinion is worth. Bring up some real facts, and make sensible comparisons.

Like I say, Freedman--
I didnt go through the whole list--I just chose 5 guys at random.
None wrestled for the WWE.
As an example--Adrian adonis--died in 1988 never having wrestled for Mrs McMahon, and he died with 4 other wrestlers (probably listed here) in a car crash, when the driver swerved to avoid a moose.
Do you really consider this an honest approach?
On one hand you are trying to denigrate the woman for having issues with ethical boundaries--ie steroids,= but then why do you misrepresent facts?
Do ethics matter to you? Or do you live your life, hoping that no one checks on the lies and crap that you spew?
And no doubt, you wont retract or apologize. You dont have the character or the integrity to do such a thing.
Its amazing to me, that you are trying to moralize about women and right and wrng--then have no problem slandering people.

the other 4 I checked were renegade bobby duncam who never wrestled for wwf
earthquake --who did in 1993 (although im not sure linda mcmahon was ceo and back in early 90's not so sure that steroids were that known. but in any event the man died of bladder cancer....
and biff wellington--who apparently was a canadian wrestler . Never worked for mcmahon and who appears to have died of a stroke.
Im sure there are some wwe wrestlers. Just as Im sure that whereever you work mr freedman, that probably someone died who has worked there.
Im not going through the whole list--because if im 5 for 5 then I know that i havent found the soul exception--ive found that there is no necessary link to mcmahon--and that is just wrong to do this.

Maybe you want to read the news articles about how Chris Benoit while on a drugged fuel high slaughtered his wife and child and then hung himself. Or maybe you want to read how Owen hart died because of negligence at a pay per view event and then the mcmahons went on with the pay per view. God forbid they have to refund the gate.. Rick rude big ewe star dead from medical condition due to steroids. Curt hennig likewise. Eddie Guerrero same. Brian Pullman death due to drugs. Test same. Crush same. The list goes on and on.
She runs an organization in which her employees DIE!
I don't want her as my Senator just because she can spend 50million of her I'll gotten cash

So --afreedman
are you planning on retracting your claim that all those wrestlers died under her watch?
Or, will you prove me right, that you simply do not have the character to correct your mistakes?
If you dont want her as your senator--thats your choice. But to lie about atrocities as a way of demonstrating the level of responsibility you want people to adhere to , is nothing short of ridiculous.
As I said im not going to look at each wrestler since its already been proven false--but I see rick rude you list here--never wrestled for mcmahon and he died of heart failure.
curt hennig didnt wrestle for the wwe and he died of a cocaine overdoes.
I have to stop here--as its apparent you are just dont know what you are talking about.
couldnt find a wrestler named bid ewe.
checked one more guerrerao did wrestle briefly for mcmahon--but died of arteriosclerosis. No where did i see it was mentioned he took steroids.
But come on--so far I have yet to read about one of your references--
dont you think its time to set the record straight and admit that you , at the very least, exagerrated the claim?

ok i read about owen hart now. tragic . and the wwe gave the family 18 million.
You found one. But the others are wrong. and, not excusing it, but there are some dangerous stunts done in movies and plays and tv shows---and this event was a tragedy but the family wrote a book and praised the mcmahons on how they handled the situation.

Let's put the issue of drug-related deaths aside for the moment. Could you take a moment to list what you believe to be Ms. McMahon's actual positive accomplishments, which you refer to in your initial post.

First of all, I dont have to like her, to be able to identifty that lies about her , are lies.
If your response is to shift the responsibility onto me, with respect to listing accomplishments, then your respect for the truth, apparently goes only as far as where your partisan political mind will allow--and quite frankly that is sad.
But in terms of what I have read about her-and that I like-is that she has taken an entertainment company from nothing and builit it into something substantial. If you or mr freedman want to debate the form of entertainment, so be it--but if I take a look at the police reports in yesterdays paper, and see various DUI's and domestic distrubances, and drug related arrests, I honestly dont hold the CEO's of the company's those people work for -responsibile. Arturo Gatti was murdered--should we get on Bob Arum? Wrestling is not my thing-so I have no idea what element is involved or attracted to it-but I also know football players who play at 310 pounds at the pro level and when they retire recede to 240---obviously not healthy either.
I read about her numerous acts of charity -working with special olympics- women's causes--childrens causes-drug and alcohol abuse--and these were all done prior to her throwing her hat in the ring for politics.
I see she went bankrupt and built herself back up. She therefore knows what its like to be on both sides.
So-in summation-she is a clever businesswoman who is compassionate.

The shipping jobs overseas--again-I looked everywhere to find out the truth-and again-it appears to be lies.
I just wonder why people who get all worked up about breaches of what they consider to be lines crossed-- but then cross obvious lines of right and wrong.
It makes no sense to me.
So Bernard, now that I have attempted to answer your question--may I ask why you want to press me into supporting my theory, rahter than taking offense to mr freedman's lies?

But I can answer for myself.
Linda McMahon is a successful businesswoman --who emerged from personal bankruptcy to make a successful connecticut business.
McMahon became a member of the Board of Trustees of Sacred Heart University (Fairfield, Connecticut) in November 2004. She supported many organizations, including the USO, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the Starlight Foundation, and Community Mayors. In 2005, she won appointment to The Make-A-Wish Foundation of America National Advisory Council and received the Arthur M. Sackler Award from the Connecticut Grand Opera and Orchestra for WWE's support of its arts education program.
On January 29, 2007, Multichannel News named McMahon to its class of "Wonder Women" for 2007.The award recognized her outstanding contributions to the cable and telecommunications industries. In May 2007, she appeared as the keynote speaker at the Girl Scout Council of Southwestern Connecticut’s Women of Achievement Leadership Breakfast.
Under her leadership, WWE was the recipient of the USO of Metropolitan Washington's first ever “Legacy of Hope” award for its extensive support of U.S. troops and the USO's Operation Care Package program. In 2007, the company received the Secretary of Defense Exceptional Public Service Award for its support of deployed service members in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2008, the company received the GI Film Festival's Corporate Patriot Award

The McMahons did not "give" Hart's family 18 million. The family sued and they fought the claim, but eventualy settled for 18 million. People only settle lawsuits for that kind of money after their own lawyers have pointed out they could loose a lot more if the suit ever went to trial.
Luca Duff Cruz

right oldtimer.
Their lawyers told them to give 18 mio. and the hart's lawyer thought that it might be lower in court-so he took the 18.
You do realize that lawyers were negotiating this--on both sides, right?
The point is-that they accepted fault, didnt fight in court and settled. Its unfortunate, but one important fact you seem to overlook, is that Mrs Hart then wrote a book, and praised the McMahons.
So? If you are looking to attack someone's character and using a victim as your tool, Im saying that if the victim has kind words--then probably Mrs McMahon is not as callous as Mr Freedman wants us to believe.
(clearly he has no respect for the truth--so--Im debating him--and he chose to leave his lies unchanged. My point is--if you want to debate ethics--then dont lie to make your point. Is that fair?
Or do you think ethical standards should be set by a liar?

People can throw out all types of claims, but one fact remains, this is a Connecticut business and at this time we sure need some of that. I don’t see WWE taking $20,000,000, of our tax money, to stay in the state, like UBS. If I were WWE I would get out. I don’t know how many employees they have, but their revenue must pay a lot of tax. It is very unfortunate that some people have to die to earn a living, but that is a choice that they make. Miners, race car drivers, powerboat racers, skiers, other types of daredevils and lastly, but not least, contact sports stars whose injuries do not show up until long after there playing days are over. They all are either sponsored or get paid, or both. And the list goes on. What exactly has Blumenthal done for CT?. Shays? Well we are still a sinking ship and I don’t see much water being bailed out from his office.
