Gomez, Bornstein Selected To Helm Board of Finance; Price-Sims Sworn In
The Board of Finance finished a recent slew of shuffling on Tuesday night.
Peter Gomez was voted new chairman of the Board of Finance and Jill Bornstein new vice chairman at start of the board's meeting on Tuesday night.
Former chairman Marty Heiser nominated Gomez to succeed him.
"It's been brought to my attention that change is good," said Heiser, who has been chairman for about a decade. "(Gomez) is incredibly smart, incredibly organized."
"I'm in the awkward position of having a nameplate that says 'chairman,'" Heiser continued, as he and Gomez switched seats at the meeting table, "but with a little bit of masking tape, that can be changed."
The board's new member, Margaret Price-Sims, then nominated Bornstein to be vice chair. Price-Sims had been sworn in by the Town Clerk earlier Tuesday, even though the finance board's vote to ratify her position—which was voted on off-agenda last week—did not occur until after the new chairmanships were decided.

Hmmm...... If the BoF violated FOI last week by voting when the item was not the agenda (which means the vote adding Price-Sims was not valid), how is it possible to have her sworn in and making nominations before she was voted in as the new member?
