'Heart and Soul' Performs at Library Sunday
Ridgefield Folk, the library's live music series, continues this month with "Heart and Soul," featuring Frannie Faith, Jeff Southworth, Chris Coogan and Sharon Bryan, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in the Dayton Program Room. The band will perform a varied concert for all ages, playing styles from the 1930s to current pop songs made famous by John Mayer, Stevie Nicks, Neil Diamond, James Taylor and Frank Sinatra, among others.
Singer/songwriter Frannie Faith's voice became familiar to the American TV and radio audiences through her vocal performance on numerous television and radio commercials. She also worked as an actress and singer on the soap opera "As the World Turns."
Jeff Southworth's life-long career in music has encompassed performing, composing, arranging, producing, singing and songwriting. Jeff played guitar with Hall & Oates for two years, touring all over the world, and played on recordings including the solo on "Kiss on My List."
Chris Coogan is a jazz and gospel musician whose credits include music director for the jazz guitarist Sal Salvador. He has played with many artists including Jose Feliciano, Bette Midler and Donna Summer. He is the director of the Good News Gospel Choir based in Weston.
Sharon Bryant had several number one hits with the group Atlantic Starr, including "Secret Lovers." Since then she has recorded and performed with the likes of Sting, Elton John, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keyes, Stevie Wonder and Justin Timberlake, to name just a few. She is currently one of the "Saturday Night Live" singers.
